Privacy Notice

1. Who we are
AccPro Investment Company (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), trading as AccPro Lite, is the responsible party / data controller for personal information processed through the Service. We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), job title, firm name.
- Business data you enter or upload: company details, chart of accounts, journals, invoices, bills, bank statements, payroll and employee records, documents.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser/device identifiers, pages viewed, sign-in events, and diagnostic logs.
- Support communications: messages you send us and their attachments.
Payment card details are collected directly by our payment processor, Paddle. We do not receive or store your card details.
3. How and why we use it
- Provide the Service — create your account, run the accounting, banking, payroll and compliance features (contract performance).
- Security and fraud prevention — detect abuse, protect accounts, keep audit logs (legitimate interests, legal obligation).
- Support — respond to your questions (contract performance / legitimate interests).
- Product improvement — understand how features are used and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
- Billing and tax — via our Merchant of Record, Paddle (contract, legal obligation).
- Marketing — service updates and, with your consent, product news. You can opt out at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers / operators: our cloud hosting and database providers, email delivery, analytics and support tooling.
- Merchant of Record: Paddle.com processes payments, invoicing, tax and subscription lifecycle. See Paddle's Privacy Notice.
- Professional advisers: legal and accounting advisers, under confidentiality.
- Authorities: where required by law (e.g. SARS, court order).
We do not sell your personal information.
5. AI features
Our AI Accounting Assistant sends the prompts and relevant context you supply to third-party AI model providers to generate responses. We do not use your business data to train third-party models.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside South Africa. Where this happens we use contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses / equivalent) so your information remains protected.
7. Retention
We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after cancellation for backup, dispute and legal purposes. You can request export or deletion at any time.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure — please help by using a strong password and enabling multi-factor authentication where offered.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA (and comparable laws) you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request deletion where legally permitted;
- object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on it;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority.

10. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies (sign-in, session) and, if enabled, analytics cookies to measure usage. You can manage cookie preferences via your browser.
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes
We may update this notice. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email.
