CIPC Compliance made simple

Annual returns, beneficial ownership, director changes and company amendments — tracked and filed inside AccPro Lite.

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) is South Africa's registrar of companies. Staying compliant means meeting deadlines, keeping director details current, and filing statutory changes on time. Missing a filing can trigger penalties, legal risk, or even deregistration.

What every company must do

Annual Return (CoR30.2)

Every company must file an annual return within 30 business days after its anniversary of incorporation. Late filing attracts penalties and can lead to deregistration.

Beneficial Ownership Register

Since 2023, companies must maintain a register of individuals who directly or indirectly own 5% or more of the company. Changes must be filed with CIPC within 5 business days.

Director / Member Changes

Appointments, resignations and changes in director details must be filed within 10 business days of the change. Accurate records keep your company in good standing.

Company Amendments

Name changes, MOI amendments, share capital changes and conversion of company types all require CIPC filings and supporting resolutions.

CIPC annual returns explained

The annual return is the most common CIPC filing. It confirms your company's registered details, directors, and address. Filing is done through the CIPC eServices portal and usually requires a filing fee based on company turnover.
